Introduction

As my first ever blog post, I would like to give sort of an introduction. Such as, what this blog is about, who I am, and just other info.

I will begin with who I am. My name would be Collin. I am 14 years old, I have 3 siblings, 2 cats, a dog, and two amazing parents. My dad is a pastor at 1st Pres Yazoo City, and my mom is a teacher at VPSA (which I will explain later). I live in Yazoo City, MS, and I am going into 9th grade. I would say I have some hobbies that I fiddle in, but one of my main hobbies is making things out of Duct Tape. Yes, crazy I know, but it's really really fun, and hopefully I will be able to show you some of my creations in the future. I play Guitar, and Djembe (an African drum). I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE playing my guitar; I have been playing for almost 2 years now. I play at church, and youth group. I am a homeschooler...and I am very happy to be one. I've been asked many times if I ever want to go to school, and have always said NO. But I'm not your typical homeschooler. Up to 6th grade I was taught by my mom (one of the greatest teachers ever), but then we discovered VPSA (Veritas Press Scholars Academy) which is a online school. I will sum VPSA up in a few words, if that's even possible. First off it is a Christian school. As I've said it's online, it's not an archive, it's live. You have real students, from real places, that are taking the class at the same time you are. The teachers are live as well, so if we have to ask a question, we click a button, and our "hand" is raised. We can then chat in the chat box or talk on the mike. Even though the classes aren't particularly hard, its just a lot of WORK, (especially when you have 7 classes :/) which makes it seem hard, but it's good preparation for college I think. I LOVE to read, I've read so many books it's hard to remember them all. As for the LOTR (Lord of the Rings) vs. Star wars debate.... Star wars all the way. One more thing, I love the Lord with all my heart, soul, mind and strength.

So why did I start this blog? Well I hope to continue this blog throughout high school. Full of events (birthdays, holidays, etc.), and I hope to take some things from school and bring them here for discussion, and just questions to think about, so I hope I will be successful in doing so. I also hope that God will use this blog to help and encourage others throughout my posts. :) When I'm done with high school, my mom hopes to make this into a book, using a computer program, and that I will have that for a long time.

I leave you with one last thing. I LOVE comments, encouraging comments, or criticism. I don't really care, you can always make something better right? So please leave some comments, and I hope you will follow this blog for a good amount of time, and i hope that it encourages you, and makes you think a good bit, as I -or we- keep on strummin' strings.
